Rent kegs instead of buying them

If demand fluctuates seasonally, if capital is needed elsewhere or if a fleet still has to be built up, renting is the quicker route.

When renting is the right decision

Not because it would be cheaper – calculated over many years, ownership is almost always cheaper. But because it does something else:

  • No capital tied up. The initial investment is dropped entirely.
  • You only pay for the season. Anyone covering peaks rents for four months and pays for four months. Your own kegs cost twelve.
  • No maintenance risk. Maintenance, cleaning and refurbishment are included in the rate.
  • Scalable in both directions. A purchased fleet can be enlarged quickly and reduced only with difficulty.

Most operations do best with both: a core fleet of their own and a rented peak. Which one works out cheaper in your case is something you can work out for yourself.

Rental is handled by Keg Rental Service

The spear is yours to choose. Rental kegs come with the type your dispensing system needs: type A (flat), type S (Sankey), type G (three-lobe) or type M (combi).
