When a new keg is the right choice
When building a new fleet, when marking larger batches uniformly, and whenever a particular year of manufacture or an unbroken warranty has to be documented.
What to watch out for in the warranty
Leading manufacturers give a warranty on service life, weld tightness and corrosion protection of up to 30-year warranty. That promise comes with a condition that is easily overlooked: Servicing every seven years, with a visual inspection of every outer weld, a pressure test and straightening of the neck and stacking rims.
So a newly bought keg is not a maintenance-free keg. Anyone who wants to keep the warranty plans the refurbishment in from the start. We take care of that.
New or reconditioned?
Technically there is nothing between them. The difference lies in price and availability – and in the fact that an overhauled keg has already proved that it holds. Work out both routes.
