Tool · Feasibility sample
Rotate it, pull it apart, cut it open. The model is neither a drawing nor a rendering but the design geometry itself: thirty solids from the STEP assembly of our DIN 50 keg with flat spear (A-type), shown in the browser. Everything is served from our own server.
Where this model comes from
The geometry comes from the Keg Exchange STEP assembly
DIN50_mit_Flachfitting. Thirty solids, read with OpenCascade, meshed and
written as a .glb. Overall height 600 mm, chimes Ø 381 mm,
down tube Ø 19 × 541 mm – the dimensions here are the dimensions of
the design.
The section plane discards fragments in front of it –
clippingPlanes in three.js. You really do see the down tube standing inside
the keg, because it really does. The reference for floor clearance is the
bottom dish, the inner recess in the keg floor – not the standing
surface. Measured on the model it sits at 16.05 mm on the axis, the tube end at
25.00 mm. That leaves 8.95 mm: the 9 mm specified for a flat
spear.
three.js sits on our own server, and so does the model. No request to someone else's data centre, no transfer of your IP address. For the same reason we brought the site's typefaces in-house.
